Why lifelong learning matters at the bedside

Healthcare never stands still. Certifications like NIHSS, BLS, and ACLS are part of the foundation, but the deeper skill is adaptability — reading a room, coordinating with a team, and adjusting when a shift changes fast.

Earning my ASN in 2023 and BSN in 2025 while working in hospital care reinforced that learning and practice can happen in parallel. That rhythm still shapes how I approach each shift today.

Starting at Sarasota Memorial Venice

In June 2026, I stepped into my current role as a Registered Nurse at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Venice. The move came after years of growth at Englewood Hospital with HCA Healthcare — from CNA to nurse extern to RN — and completing my BSN in 2025.

What carried over is the same focus: clear communication, calm presence under pressure, and care that treats every patient as a whole person.

This space will hold short notes on nursing, learning, and the work of showing up well for patients and teams.
